“I am the gate; whoever enters through me will be saved. They will come in and go out, and find pasture. The thief comes only to steal and kill and destroy; I have come that they may have life, and have it to the full. “I am the good shepherd. The good shepherd lays down his life for the sheep.” John 10:9-11 (NIV)
I’ve been thinking a lot lately about new life. The new life we have in Christ. New life as the earth welcomes the beauty of spring and flowers. Even though I would love to hold onto the cold, snowy days for a while yet, I’m always struck by the colors of a new season. New life.
I also have been thinking about new life as I’m knitting a baby blanket for some upcoming craft fairs I’ll be participating in. One day, a blanket that I created will help to welcome a new life into this world.
But the ultimate new life I’ve been thinking about is the new life that can only be found in Christ. He died on the cross for your sins so you can have new life in Him. First you must acknowledge those sins and ask Him to forgive you. Then you ask Him into your heart, to give you new life. He’s the only reason we can have this new life. The only one who can give us eternal life with Him.
As we gear up to celebrate Jesus’ death on the cross and resurrection from the grave. Take time to make sure your eternity is settled.
